March 10 – Meeting Notes

I had a wonderful time with some of our sisters this past weekend when we met for a business meeting and some dinner at McAlister’s Deli.  Rhonda, Erica, Vicki, Carol, Alyson, Elizabeth, Jill, Maggie (ECU-Alumnae Relations), and myself spent some time discussing a few issues that have come up recently.  I have created a PDF of those notes.  You can view it here.

Standards of Excellence

March 1st is the annual deadline to submit our chapter SOE (Standards of Excellence) for the year.   Certificates will be awarded to Gold, Pearl, or Ruby Levels of Recognition at Convention this year.   If we calculated correctly, we should get Gold Level our first year!

Also, read the SOE carefully so that we can attain more of these goals next year!

Wine & Design Night!

On Monday Sept.10th we had our first of what I hope will be many, many Wine & Design Nights!!  Jill, Erica, Sam, Alyson and myself painted beautiful masterpieces, with friends Ashley and Shannon.

We painted a gorgeous beach scene… …and drank some wine.  Be careful not to dip your paintbrush into your wine!!

Part of It

"First you’re a part of it, then it becomes a part of you."

This perfectly describes me and AOII.  From the day I began Rush I knew I wanted to be a part of something.  Something bigger than me.  I found that in AOII, the only non-local sorority on my campus.  At the time I thought “how cool would it be to find and know AOIIs all over the country?” … I wanted to be a part of that! 

Twelve years later, I realize how big a part of me AOII has become.  To have such an immediate and strong bond with women I have never met before.  To be able to share stories about recruitment, sisterhood, and college life, no matter the campus or year, because we have a common thread.  To move 700+ miles from where I became an AOII, to have that sisterhood in Wilmington is a dream come true.

I am so proud to be a part of AOII, and AOII will ALWAYS be a part of me.
