Last Sunday, February 8th, we had a great time at Carol’s making Valentine’s boxes for 8 collegiate chapters (all North Carolina chapters and our members alma maters) and hundreds of pink ribbons for the Pretty in Pink Foundation! I managed to take pictures of the candy/boxes and ribbons, but forgot to get a group photo!!
A big thank you to Carol for hosting, and to Sam, Rhonda, Vicki, Alyson, Shelley, and Mary Katherine for donating goodies and assembling everything!!
Happy Valentine’s Day to all our AOII sisters!!

Cathy
On Sunday, January 11, we met up at Kornerstone Bistro in Porters Neck for lunch. It was a wonderful turnout (11!!) and we had a great time catching up, meeting a few newcomers, and discussing future events.
We will be making Valentine’s Boxes for collegiate chapters and pink ribbons for the Pretty Pink Foundation on February 8th, 2pm at Carol’s house. The Pretty in Pink Foundation’s mission is to provide financial assistance to uninsured and underinsured breast cancer patients with quality, life-saving medical treatment regardless of their ability to pay. We make this happen with financial commitments through sponsorships, fundraising, donations and pledge drives that support our Champions locally and throughout North Carolina. (via https://www.prettyinpinkfoundation.org/index.aspx) We cannot wait to see what other support we can give to this foundation!
March 14th is the 11th Annual Steve Haydu St. Patrick’s Lo Tide Run, which we will be participating on on team “Hopeful Hippos.” This team was created to honor Vicki’s late daughter Kim. We are proud to support this event, which uses funds raised to help area residents with cancer. To register, go to http://www.lotiderun.org/ and join team Hopeful Hippos!
(Please pre-register before March 1st.)
We will be having our Ritual & BBQ at Rhonda’s on April 12th at 5pm. Husbands / significant others welcome. More info to come.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend and enjoy the Super Bowl tomorrow… and Go Patriots!!

Last Saturday, the Port City Alumnae and Triangle Alumnae Chapters met in Rose Hill, NC for a combined event: we started with some wine tasting (who knew we could have such varying tastes!!) and then had a wonderful late lunch at the Bistro Restaurant.
Just 3 boxes of wine between 12 of us :)

Had such a great time with our Triangle sisters… can’t wait to have another combined event soon!!
