Founders’ Day – Zeta Psi

Last weekend Rhonda, Carol, Vicki and I (along with our wonderful husbands) made the trip to Greenville to celebrate the Zeta Psi chapter’s Founders’ Day.  We had a wonderful lunch at Chico’s with Carol’s daughter Maggie, who is an AOII, and some of her sisters.  Then we spent a few minutes (and a few dollars) at the UBE.

While Rhonda and Roy (her hubby) went off to watch the baseball game, the rest of us and Maggie piled into Carol’s SUV for a tour around the ECU campus.  Zee (my hubby) and I have never been on campus before, but it was fun to get the current tour (Maggie) and the “reminiscing” tour (Carol, Vicki & Dave).

We met Rhonda and Roy back at the AOII house and took a tour of the house.  It was so much fun to tour with Zeta Psi alumnae!!

The basketball game was next; we did not win, but it was a great game!

Back to the house for a spaghetti dinner with the sisters.  And some yummy cake!! Then some photos in front of the house.

Alums! Alumnae :)

I have to say I had a great time celebrating with my Zeta Psi sisters, and I love the welcoming atmosphere they always have when we visit.  Hope we can do more things soon with our closest collegiate chapter, as well as the GGAAC! :)

Shop ‘til you Drop!

Don’t know what to get your favorite AOII sister for Christmas?  How about something from the AOII Emporium?  New items just in for the holidays!  Who wouldn’t love a new AOII t-shirt, or AOII Pandora-style bead?  Or maybe just a new cuddly panda?

And if you aren’t already, friend Ruby Pearl on Facebook, to keep up with Emporium news and events!

Founders’ Day

Happy Founders’ Day to Alpha Omicron Pi!!

I hope each of you were able to take a minute and think about what it means to be an AOII today.  I am so thankful that I am a part of such a wonderful organization and feel incredibly lucky to call all of you my sisters.

From the Executive Board Message: “Stella’s promise that our sisterhood will be a reality, strength, comfort and joy in a changing world is as true today as it was in 1897. It is our hope that Alpha Omicron Pi continues to bring eternal blessings to you and to all future generations of AOII sisters.”  Here’s to another wonderful year of being sisters, and to officially becoming members of the Port City Alumnae Chapter in 2012.

Check out the AOII Foundation Ruby Fund Message and the rest of the Executive Board’s Message on Founders’ Day.

Alpha Love to all our sisters.

Bring enough copies of the recipe for your cookies for everyone!!

Please RSVP on Facebook (through our group), email any of the officers (links to all of our emails are on the right side of this webpage, under the calendar), or email PortCityAOPi@gmail.com so we will know how many people to bake and bring recipes for.

Greenville Sisters

We are so lucky to have another chapter so close by.  If you want to stay on top of what the AOII Alumnae are doing in the Greater Greenville Chapter, check out their blog

They recently helped out the Zeta Psi (ECU) chapter with their 1st Annual AOII Chili Round Up.  We can’t wait to hear about how that went & how much money they were able to raise!

Also, we will be joining the GGAAC team for the Wilmington Arthritis Walk tomorrow, October 22.  Although the forecast is predicting a chilly morning, I think the 3 mile walk will warm us up quickly!

If you are interested in attending the GGAAC’s first Alumnae Initiation, please let me know and I will get you more details. It should be a very special day for their chapter!

You can also find their chapter on Facebook @ Alpha Omicron Pi Greater Greenville Area Alum Chapter, and the Zeta Psi Alum group on Facebook @ AOII Zeta Psi Alumnae.

We are looking forward to doing some combined events with the Greater Greenville Alumnae Chapter, including our Founder’s Day celebration!!

Pass It On

Do you know any other AOIIs in the area?  Let them know about us!  We are on our way to becoming an official Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi, and I would love to have more ladies involved when we are installed.  Tell them to find us on Facebook, check out this website, email me, or email our official email address: PortCityAOPi@gmail.com.  Or just tell them to come meet us at the Wilmington Arthritis Walk on October 22, at Hugh MacRae Park at 9:30am (walk starts at 10:00).  We would love to have them!!

Also, don’t forget to RSVP to Cathy or Erica about the meeting immediately after the Walk.  It will be held at McAllister’s Deli and I need a head count.  Thanks!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!!

Cathy
